OUR STORY

Serving Since 1959

Lighthouse Cathedral church, originally Lighthouse Tabernacle, was founded in 1959 by Pastor Allie Taylor D.D.  It started in a church tent in Ecorse, Michigan and from there moved to the King Theater on Chene St. in Detroit in 1959. In 1960, the church moved to 19009 Conant Ave. and it was there that Bishop Charlie Green first attended Lighthouse. The church stayed at that location from 1960 to 1974, after which it moved to 8801 Woodward. It was at this location that the church was renamed Lighthouse Cathedral. The church remained at the Woodward location until November of 2007, after which it had a brief transitional period at a location on Evergreen and 7 Mile, and finally settled at 15940 Puritan on July 1, 2008.
